    Ninjas.
    Or one ninja to be more specific. The lethality is a ninja is inverse to the number of ninjas present. One single ninja is a killing machine, but as the number of ninjas increases, each individual ninja becomes more of a bumbling idiot. As proven by any ninja movie you have ever watched. So there. A single ninja can wield weapons much larger than himself, is fast enough to outrun anything, and can move in complete silence. That clearly outclasses any pirate. So one ninja can beat any pirate (or pirates) but a pack of them would be defeated. Does that make sense? I'm tired...

    NINJAS, they would pwn all the way, the pirates would be too drunk to be able to kill the ninjas

    But do remember that pirates and ninjas are from different areas, unless they are Asian Pirates, which are most likely ninjas anyways. An Atlantic pirate wouldn't go away from the Atlantic because there are no places to sell his goods in Asia or west-America. A smart ninja wouldn't leave the Pacific for the Atlantic because they would be too far away from their spiritual home center and would lose their ability to concentrate.

    Pirates, most definitely. Money always beats physical strength, as money can buy physical strength, amongst infinite other things. For example, a well-trained marine could probably beat Bill Gates in hand-to-hand combat, but Bill Gates could hire 10,000 marines to blow the single marine from existence.

    Handing out condoms to prevent AIDS is like handing out bullet proof vests to prevent murder.

    Ninjas.
    I pretty much agree with Kate. I'm sure a pirate could hire a hitman. Or buy explosives and whatnot. But that hitman would probably be a ninja, and the explosives would probably already be employed by the ninja.
