Legalizing Marijuana

    If President Obama were to legalize the use of Marijuana in the US, he would not only make a TON of people happy, but would also stop the illegal use of marijuana (since it isn't illegal anymore).

    However, more people would use it, leading to heath problems.

    This would boost the economy temporarily if the government had a monopoly of being the sole marijuana distributor... but if it didn't set up this monopoly it wouldn't have many good short-term effects.

    Are you for or against this? Why? Any more pros/cons to this argument?

    Well, health issues are only relevant because of stupid universal healthcare. If you smoke for 50 years and get lung cancer, guess who's paying for your healthcare.

    Legalizing it would boost the economy. There's an entire county in California where it is legal to grow, sell, and use marijuana. The entire economy is based of marijuana. But that's not really smart economics. Marijuana is dangerous if not used right, and most people are stupid if/when they use it. I don't think it should be legalized. People are going to use it regardless if it is legal or not.

    Obama would get no support. Whether marijuana should be legalized or not, a huge portion of Congress are too big of pussies to vote for it, even if they like the idea, because they would never get reelected. People vote with their hearts, not their brains. While marijuana will help the economy, nearly no mother can stand the thought of their little baby smoking weed.
